An animated GIF is a small, short video that will keep repeating until the viewer stops it.

Animated GIFs help to get the viewers’ attention. If a picture is worth a thousand words, a moving image can be worth much more than a thousand words.

The moving image above is telling people that we design websites. Furthermore, it is saying that we will design a business website for as low as $300. It gives the URL of a page with more information.

• Maximum number of colours that will show up: 256
• Maximum size that can be uploaded into WordPress: 2 MB

Careful of too much movement

If a visitor is trying to read a page, excessive movement can be too distracting. Sometimes you want to keep the movement quite subtle.

Elsewhere on this website, we are telling people that we can create a quiz for them. The quiz can be added to their Facebook page to help promote their business.

They can have, say, 15 questions. 14 will be interesting & entertaining to the visitor. One question can be specifically about our client’s business.

We can have the graphic you see here that has very little movement. There is just enough movement to get the visitors’ attention.
